Taylor, Detective Constable Duncan,
2002, in Fielding. Killed by an armed and lovelorn 17-year-old, Daniel Luff.
Stretch, Constable Murray,
1999, at Mangakino. Beaten to death while investigating a burglary.
McKibbin, Constable Glenn Arthur,
1996, at Flaxmere, Hastings. Shot and fatally wounded by Terence Thompson.
Guthrie, Sergeant Stewart Graeme,
1990, at Aramoana. Shot dead by mass-killer, David Gray in the Aramoana tragedy.
Umbers, Senior Constable Peter,
1990, at Ranfurly,Central Otago. Fatally injured by a robbery suspect.
Dudding, Traffic Officer Robin James,
1986, at Rotorua. Shot dead after being kidnapped at Lake Rotoiti.
Gibson, Traffic Officer Barry Vorsten,
1977, at New Plymouth. Died in Taranaki Hospital after being assaulted
Murphy, Constable Peter William,
25 September 1976, at Invercargill. Shot dead outside an Invercargill sports shop.
Arcus, Sergeant Cilbert Peter,
4 February 1970, at Tauranga. Pushed off a ladder by a mentally disturbed woman while attempting to climb in a window and died as a result.
Stokes, Constable Donald Richard,
at Dunedin. Died of injuries received in a violent attack by two prisoners in the Dunedin police cells on 14 August 1966.
Schultz, Constable Bryan Leslie,
3 February 1963, at Lower Hutt. Shot dead while attending a domestic dispute with Constable Richardson.
Richardson, Constable James Thomas,
3 February 1963, at Lower Hutt. Shot dead while attending a domestic dispute with Constable Schultz.
Power, Detective Sergeant Neville Wilson,
6 January 1963, at the Waitakeres, Auckland. Shot with Detective Inspector W. Chalmers.
Chalmers, Detective Inspector Wallace,
6 January 1963, at the Waitakeres. Auckland. Shot while on duty.
Hughes, Sergeant William Shore,
27 May 1951, at Otaki. Shot and killed while attending a domestic dispute.
Best, Constable Edward Mark,
11 October 1941, at Koiterangi. Shot by Eric Stanley Graham on 8 October 1941.
Tulloch, Constable Percy Campbell,
8 October 1941, at Koiterangi. Shot by Eric Stanley Graham.
Cooper, Sergeant William,
8 October 1941, at Koiterangi. Shot by Eric Stanley Graham.
Jordan, Constable Frederick William,
8 October 1941, at Koiterangi. Shot dead by Eric Stanley Graham.
Heeps, Constable Thomas,
21 October 1934, near Morrinsville. Shot dead by a murder suspect he was questioning.
Dorgan, Constable lames,
27 August 1921, at Timaru. Shot dead by a burglar on shop premises.
Dudding, Constable Vivian,
6 October 1919, Brook Street, Wellington. Shot dead while attending a domestic dispute.
Doyle, Constable John,
5 February 1913, at Palmerston North. Died after being violently assaulted while attending an incident at Shannon on 3 February.
McCuire, Sergeant John Patrick Hackett,
14 April 1910, at Palmerston North. Shot dead, allegedly by Pawelka, who was later acquitted.
McLeod, Constable Neil
30 July 1890, at Mangawhare Wharf, near Dargaville. Shot dead by a mentally disturbed man while en route to Auckland on transfer.
