Suspect List shrinks
After 19 weeks (as at 7 May) Operation Tam police said their potential suspect list had dropped to ‘fewer than 10’. This had dropped from the 130 mentioned by Mr Pope three weeks earlier.
(Police use the term ‘suspect’ to described people who need to be located, interviewed, alibis checked and eliminated from the inquiry). Mr Pope told The Dominion on 8 May that the process of elimination over the weeks has reduced the list considerably. “I expect that will be reduced even further in the near future,” he said.
