Olivia annoyed her berth was taken aboard Tamarack.
Olivia Hope was annoyed that a woman had taken her bed when she returned to the yacht, Tamarack, in testimony given by Christchurch student, Jeffrey Fyfe.
When Olivia went back to the yacht in the early hours of New Year’s Day 1998, she found the boat was overcrowded with extra people sleeping on the floor. She complained to Fyfe, that it was unfair that she had paid for the berth and another woman had taken it. Fyfe went to bed and assumed that Olivia had caught the water taxi back to Furneaux Lodge. Olivia did not return that day and they had to leave without her to return the yacht.
More boaties gave testimony about what they had seen and heard around Furneaux Lodge and the Marlborough Sounds. The jury were told they would receive an itinerary of their trip down to Marlborough Sounds to view areas where Olivia and Ben went that fateful New Years.
More boat owner’s testimony is scheduled.
