July 21 1999 - Watson Sought Crew In Bar - Sexual Favours Required
Testimony today from one witness, Cara Lee Brosnahan, described being introduced to Watson as “Mr Prozac” by her friend Amanda Egden.
Brosnahan and her friends had been talking with Watson in the bar at Furneaux Lodge on New Year’s Eve. The offer of crewing for him on a trip to Tonga and getting Prozac T-shirts was raised. Egden said she would pull on the ropes as a crew member, but the man said other things were required, like sexual favours, stated Brosnahan. The group left shortly after this encounter.
Brosnahan had picked out Watson from a group of photographs shown her by police. The defence on cross-examination had Brosnahan agreeing that her group of friends had been having the man on a bit.
