Peter John Dagger
Peter John Dagger, a convicted paedophile, was found guilty in the Wellington District Court on 55 charges relating to child pornography and fined $14,770. The charges were:

40 charges of possession of objectionable material
8 charges of making objectionable material
7 charges of making objectionable material avaliable to another person

This was the first prosecution for Internet pornography networking in New Zealand.

A 41 year-old sickness beneficiary, Dagger had been before the court before. In 1991 he had been sentenced to five years in jail on six charges of sodomising a boy under the age of 16.
