Operation Mist (A kidnapping Foiled!)
In July 2002, when vistors to Rimataka Forest Park came across a hidden bunker, complete with food and breathing hole they contacted Upper Hutt police. Operation Mist was launched.
The case climaxed less then two weeks later when police and serious crime investigators foiled the kidnapping as it was meant to be taking place. 3 arrests were made and a sawn off shotgun was retrieved. Let our Crime Timeline keep you up to date as the case progresses...
